Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has expressed support for medical marijuana in his state, but has repeatedly admitted that he finds marijuana to be dangerous for youth and it's smell "putrid". While he claims to oppose jail time for marijuana convictions, he has made no effort for clemency or pardons and thinks that places that have legalized marijuana will end up regretting it.
Senator Rubio is fully against marijuana legalization, stating he does not believe their is a responsible way to recreationally use marijuana. Senator Rubio has also stated that he would only support medical marijuana if it were to go through the FDA's regulating process-- a feat that is currently not possible with federal prohibition.
Bill Posey consistently votes against marijuana legislation reform.
Darren Soto has a proven voting and comment history in favor of progressive marijuana laws. Recently teamed with Congressman Matthew Gaetz to make it easier for sick patients as well as researchers to obtain marijuana.
Vern Buchanan consistently votes against marijuana reform, and has been outspoken in his skepticism against marijuana.
Greg Steube is a supporter of marijuana reform, asserting that cannabis should be reclassified under the Controlled Substance Act to Schedule 3. He has also introduced medical marijuana legislation in the Florida senate. He has been an advocate for broadening veterans access to medical marijuana.
While a strong supporter of medical marijuana, Steube does not appear to be in favor of recreational adult use.
Wasserman Schultz has stated multiple times that she is against the legalization of marijuana, and has been inconsistent in her stance regarding medical marijuana in Florida. Historically, she has been quite anti-medical marijuana, but has recently loosened her position and started to move in favor of medical marijuana programs and legislation. She has been quoted likening marijuana use to the use of opioid painkillers.
Diaz-Balart has never voted in favor of pro-marijuana legislation, but has largely remained silent on the issue in the media.
